A gloomy fairytale
In a narrow company canteen, at a table filled with snacks and drinks, four temps are waiting for the guests to arrive at a reception. To kill some time they make up a game. Unfortunately, it gets out of control: two of the ladies change in childish, tedious, nagging bullies who antagonize their silent collegue Yvon. They are so mean, it becomes hilarious. But Yvon persists through everything, stoical, and it all ends well, because what goes around comes around. "She's driving me crazy, she doesn't speak at all.
And I'm trying so hard to be nice and kind.
I try and try and... nothing happens...
I tell her one of my best jokes... no response at all...
I even compliment her on her shoes while I don't mean a word of it...
No "thank you" or not even a nod...
That's not normal, that's rude, isn't it?
If she can't get along, then she's got to go!

René Geerlings graduated in 1999 at the mimeschool of the Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. At Max. René played in the House of Dreams, The Horrible stepmother show, Performance in which hopefully nothing happens (which won the Gouden Krekel 2005), Paradiso, city of the future, Peter Pan was here and Once upon a dragon. He's also director at Boogaerdt/VanderSchoot among others. At Max. René also directed There's still macaroni left (part of the Max.Milieubende). Yvon is part of a triptych, called Favourites. The other two parts are This is my mother and Belle.
